JellyJenny's Harmony

Wow, I have set up my second ETSY shop.
To be frank, I have collected many materials for my new hobby- beading because I wanted to try different stones and textured elements.  The materials ready in hand could be converted into many different kinds of jewellery.
However, I'm not particularly fond of wearing jewellery when attending office duties.  So, it should be a great idea to let someone who admire them to take them away.  Thus, my second shop is born.
I named my new shop as -- JJ's Harmony.
Like a piece of harmony, I believe when getting all the stuff together right with a dedicated heart and pair of hands, it becomes truly delightful and adorable.
Wish there be friends to appreciate my DIY pieces.
Enjoy always.

Latest Projects

With many trials and errors, I made some stuff with beads which I have found recently. I know that they are not perfect, however, all of them are made by heart and hands. I have put them into my shops, as they are my new try, I dare not to mark them with high price. I could only wait and see if anyone is interested to take them home and wear them for this Christmas. Would you?

I have updated my latest project to my photo album in PhotoBucket - JellyJennyHK's Album.  If you have time, you may click here to have a look.

Eye Candies

Hey, I would like to show you the trophies I discovered in the local beads shops. You see, they just look like candies. The shop owner told me that they named them as “jelly bean beads” in Cantonese. Wow, no one would resist giving them a big thumb. Before beading them, they are only good to see. For me, that’s not enough! I believe, with my creativity (I hope I really have, LOL!), they shall be very good to wear, after beading them.

I will post some of my works here later. But please don’t laugh me, they are only my very first trial. Stay tuned.

Start Beading

To be frank, for girls, no one hates beading when she was young. We usually use threads or wire to go through every bead on hand so as to make it become a necklace or bracelet, however, this hobby may not last long till we have grown up. Like me, I have beaded for a short while but was not very keen on it. I even did not think of that until when everyone asked me how come you didn’t try beading. I once thought that the beads were “naughty” and they were always out of my control. Well, actually, both the wire and my fingers were so. Ha, ha.

I have been picking up beading lately, because one of my friends- Carmen likes it very much. I tried and made errors almost every time at the beginning when I had started beading, and then I tried again. Until I have successfully made something, I found beading a fun. I even appreciate that we could always bead again when we found something wrong with our previous work. So, we have no regret when we made something wrong, just don’t like stitching or painting or craving stamps. Of course, I should possess that kind of braveness to start it over again after making mistakes.

Anyway, beading is my new start in the handcraft area this year and wish that the stuff I made could win people’s hearts.

Merry Season in the Year!

I’m happy to introduce the first launch of sale activity in my little shops this year. That’s for Christmas! I love this great season and big festival, as we could all enjoy the festive atmosphere around us, the food, the gifts, the neon light decoration on buildings etc. are all fabulous.

Hong Kong Post has announced the last cut-off date for airmails to various countries. We have to post our mails before that date to make sure our parcels be delivered on time, well before Christmas. I know, that date for airmails to United States will be 5.12.2009. Not having much time for delivery, I murmured. Hmm, just before the closing date, I would like to give my dear customers some privileges, so that they could consider JellyJenny’s stuff as their thanksgiving presents or Christmas gifts. Dunnnnnn [music for announcing something very important], I will offer every bulk purchase (meaning that buying two or more items in one order) a discount on shipping charges from 50% to 100% off!!

Wow, please go to my shop front for the details. The sale activity will be ended by 26 November 2009, for I should catch up the time to arrange delivery. Don’t know if there are any new orders eventually?

Second Order being Posted

What a lucky shop owner like me! I have received my second order just three days after the first one appeared. I am so happy that my shop coming outstanding at someone’s eyes in the etsian world.

I have well packed the items which my customer has purchased. I don’t know why I always have a thought in mind when I have received this order-- my customer would share the items with her friends. So, I have packed them readily look like a present, then she could give it to her friends instantly. You see, they look like a bottle of champagne! (Of course, they are smaller and shorter in size as they are actually 10 rolls of decorating tapes.)

Wish you enjoy JellyJenny’s stuff. 

P.S. Hey, don’t say that I’m not earth-friendly. The wrapping materials actually are able to be re-used for crafting of any kinds— like sewing a sachet to hold dried flowers, wrapping gifts, hold it tight with a wire to make it like flowers, or you would have much more interesting ideas!

It's Party Time!

To me, Saturdays and Sundays are my party time.
Blissful.  I enjoy a whole day free of work and stay at home crafting.
I see crafting my most relaxing hobby.
I will try to collect materials I want to craft on weekdays,
also collect some ideas and store them into my heart.
When weekends come,
I turn my ideas into reality.
The process is amazing, and you would never tell boring like this.
I usually have a good sleep and not to wake up so early in the morning,
no rush to have a simple breakfast and then catch the sunlight for some photos.
Then, I start crafting for a whole day.
This weekend, I think of Christmas.
So, I made a party set for dining gatherings in this great season.
Great, great, Christmas is coming around the corner.

Stitching Motifs....

Stitching motifs is fast and easy.
It could turn into something really good.  I like the vivid way it could finally be.
In addition to Mr. Ducky, I have stitched quite a number of motifs when I have free time these few weeks.
See, I have got some here. (Surprisingly, I successfully turned them into hair bands.)

I think I am quite a practical person,
I like doing something which I think it is useful, at least be good to myself.
Frankly, I do think that handmaking stuff is a real joy.
When you have finished something, and it does good to your own life,
that shall be amazing indeed.
So, that's why I love handcrafting in my leisure time.

Wish you enjoy yours too!
:)

A Thrill of Joy!

Wow, on 2 November 2009, it should be certainly a memorable day to me with my little shop at ETSY. My first sale there has been received and completed. With the time difference between HK and US, it is pity that I could not witness the whole transaction. When I entered my account at 2-Nov night to check conversation, I still have not received any message. Surprisingly, when I entered again in the morning of 3-Nov (= today) after I came back to my office a bit earlier, I saw one of my products being sold.

LOL, the happiness is really beyond description.

For my first customer, for sure, I am grateful to have your visit and purchase. I have packed some free gifts inside the parcel to appreciate your patronage.

At last, I discovered that running business with ETSY platform is not just to bring you profit or income; to a large extent, it brings me joy and mercy as I know that someone appreciates my work on the other side of the world.

Thank you for your visit and purchase. At the same time, thanks ETSY for a wonderful platform for crafters.

Christmas is around the corner

Temperature in Hong Kong has been dropping recently.
It becomes cooler from thirty something Celsius degree to possibly 18 something on coming Tuesday.
Anyway, it makes me think of Christmas.
I have started to make somethings for the Christmas times and the season.
Will definitely share with you all.
Stay tuned.
