2 Days Left- Four Seasons on Hairpins

It is my first time to do the wiring.  I have spent about thrice the time of beading to successfully finish something with the wire.  However, I have no regret with the time spent because the outcome is beyond my imagination.
You see, I used different materials to create four seasons on hair pins.
What do you think?

10 Days Left- Wiring

This is the first time I try wiring when beading DIY jewellery.  Huh, it is difficult, difficult, difficult.
I even could not count how many times I failed and then retried again and again.
It is really an activity to train up my EQ and patience. :)
However, I was successful at last.
What's the outlook of my wiring projects?
Shuuuuuuuuuuuu, a surprise later.
Even I, myself, have never thought of such outcome!
Ha, stay tuned, folks.

11 Days Left- Card Set & Letter Set

Do you like exchanging letters with your friends by using paper letters instead of emails?
You could receive your friends' words with warmth because you could see their handscript and touch the papers.
Although technology is advance nowadays, I still like old ways, old things and old style.
The key-in emails are unable to compare with the handwritten letters, despite the speed they being delivered.
So the same as handmade things!
You won't disagree-- DIY has its super magic.  Once you have an idea, you could never stop DIY.  Especially when I find my idea work out amazingly, I could not stop creating more.

Hey, you see, this time, I have stamped and handmade two paper sets- Card Set and Letter Set.
I used traditional Chinese writing paper and calligraphy paper to make the envelopes.
And then stamped a few super cute stamps on labels, so as to let someone create a card or write a letter by using these envelopes, sealing them with the labels I stamped.
Terrific, right?
I don't deny either.
I must tell that traditional Chinese papers have their characteristics and charm which makes them have room to survive, although we are now rare to use them for calligraphy or writing essay.
I would try to think more by making good use of them later.

12 Days Left- Oh, Christmas Tree...

Christmas atmosphere is all around elsewhere here in Hong Kong.
We have been to the shopping mall where decorated by all sorts of Christmas ornaments.
Wow, too blissful....

Pretty?

Can you see us inside the Christmas ball?

They all come from the beautiful decoration inside the mall.

13 Days Left- Blank to Flowery

Let me tell you how I made the Thank You Card in the last post.  Are you interested?
It is fun indeed.

Step 1: Pink Japanese cherries go first.

Step 2: They looked like Poinsettia, but I made them in orange.

Step 3: Add some leaves in different green colour. More and more...better and better....

Step 4: Add more and more, can you count them?

Step 5: Oops, I was too happy to stamp and forgot to shoot for this step. :P

Step 6: Finally, I stamped and arranged the flowers like a wreath. Don't forget to leave the centre in oval shape for some words.

Step 7: Finished!

Ha, ha.....I treasure "Keep in Touch" more than "Thank You", so I stamped "Keep in Touch" in the centre.  But I think I failed to make the embossed item look better.  They are not clear enough.  I should try more times to emboss something for a better result next time!

What do you think?

14 Days Left- Thanks a Bunch!

I have made a card to all my blog friends to express my gratitude to their words.
Thank you very much, your words mean so much to me.
Wish my blog friends grow like the flowers on the card.

18 Days Left- Stamping, Stamping, Stamping!

These are the stamp pads I bought from a local paper shop during their sale near the Christmas.  The colours are great and good with fabrics and wood as well.  I have started some little stamping projects for the coming festive.

Stamping is one of my favourite leisure time, will share what I have done later.

19 Days Left- Snowflakes in HK

Hong Kong is located within the sub-tropical climatic region where we could have four distinguishable seasons in a year, instead of only summer all the time in other Asian countries. However, our winter (even though it could be very cold) is not the kind of foreign winter that snow comes down always.

Hong Kong has no snow.

Snow is a remarkable icon in this season and it is a truly beautiful creation from God. Although Hong Kong has no snow, it is not new to us. We could see it on various kinds of products or greeting cards especially for this season. Sometimes we are even able to taste and experience the real one when we travel to other overseas countries in winter.

I like snow in this season but I don’t like the bitter cold temperature in winter. So, to be frank, genuine snow is not my cup of tea. I try to find its substitution to satisfy myself. Hey, you see, luckily, I have found some snowflakes in tailor’s shop, they are as pretty as the real one! I have turned them to be the ornaments to my newly handmade brooch here (and some being put on others which I have newly made). Believe me, they are snowflakes never melt! Hmm, I must say that they are also very pretty and adorable. It is because I understand they are made by God’s most valuable creature!

Let's experience the snowing peacefully, at your place and also mine.

21 Days Left- Cold Outside but Warm Here

I have scheduled to post out my first three articles for JellyJenny’s advent calendar on 29-Nov as I would not be so free to do it during weekdays. When I was busy updating my shops, taking photos and doing some housekeeping, I thought of my earlier view on some advent calendars and 2010 calendars at ETSY. They are so pretty and adorable. Then I have written up two featured articles for these findings. For providing my readers an easy way to share my great findings, I have linked up the photos and the shops I like. After doing that, I thought I shall need to give all the shop owners a credit instead of doing so quietly. You know, because of the time difference, I updated my blog in the afternoon of Sunday while it actually was about their midnight time of an earlier day.

(Shhhhhhhh, they were all sleeping at that time and didn’t know my mails to inform them about what I have done.) 

Wow, when I came back to the office early morning on Monday (30-Nov) and checked my mailbox. What a surprise, I have received as many as 17 new messages full of thank you and appreciation.

You all made my day. {{{{{HUG}}}}}

Thank you~~

and sincerely hope that you would have a big big sale before and after Christmas and New Year. You must all agree that money is not a matter sometimes, but the praise and appreciation from others to our work are precious and remarkable always. Welcome you all and thanks for your kind words.

P.S. A secret : I am now stuggling on choosing the 2010 calendars I found. It is a really hard time for me. Hee hee…..

22 Days Left- 2010 Calendar

Two days ago, I have talked about the advent calendars for Christmas. Actually, this is the last month of 2009, 2010 is coming around the corner.

At the end of a year, I always look for pretty and useful calendars- intending to keep for my home, my parents home as well, one at my office, one standing on my desk and may be, keep one in my purse for instant usage.

Frankly, without any problem, I have found so many which I am fancy for long in a very short period of time. I couldn't continue searching for more, otherwise, I will be bankrupt very soon. (kidding!!)
However, they are great indeed. Do you think so?

P.S. I don't know if the photo links would still be valid when we reach the year of 2010.  However, if it really happens (the photos disappear!!), you may click the shop's name and visit their shops on line.  Thanks all shop owners for your very nice photos and your approval for me to post your photos in here.

23 Days Left- My Gifts Wish List

Like a child, I set up my wish list for Christmas gifts every year (of course, I could not realize them all, just a dream!). While you are looking for gifts, you certainly become joyful and happy (no matter if I can receive them at last). So, I am happy to introduce my wish list here:

(1) A pen pal who writes in English (letters on papers and send by mail) and could share the same hobbies
(2) Envelop Stencil from Addicted to Rubber Stamps (ARS) to make envelopes faster
(3) A board book for creating my own book from ARS as well
(4) Cross stitch chart of Russian dolls from Au Pays de Alice (APA)
(5) Cross stitch chart “L’ ABC aux clefs” from APA
(6) Cross stitch chart “Chose Favourite” from APA
(7) A book named “Cross Stitch Antique Style Sampler
....

Ha, ha, ha….Will certainly update it when Christmas time is approaching nearer. I can’t imagine will it eventually become an endless list? Too greedy to think more. :P

JellyJenny’s Advent Calendar

24 days left till Christmas! Love this season, love this festive, love the atmosphere and love all around this great day. I launch a count-down to the Christmas, and try my best to post everyday for celebrating this upcoming great and blissful festival.

When I search in my favourite handcraft-selling platform, I found many different advent calendars on sale. They are wonderful indeed. Let’s take a look on some of them and share the festive atmosphere by counting down days towards Christmas 2009!

(5) A New Patina's

I specially love those in 3D, those in wooden boxes, small tins, rectangular paper boxes etc are terrific.  Some are even on muffin plate, amazing!  I really envy their creativity.  They are all gorgeous, however, shipping to Hong Kong costs huge, even the paper one!  So, I could only save them for treating myself as eye candies.

An early merry Christmas to all of you~~~

P.S. I'm not sure if the photo links would still be valid after Christmas, however, you may simply click the shop name to take a look of their handmade items on line.  Wish these shop owners have a bravo sale before Christmas time!!  Merry Christmas and thank you for your nice photos and your allowance to let me post your photos in here.
